Day Sixty Four - Petoskey State Park to Ellsworth, Michigan

Day 64
July 19th
Sunday
39 Miles
Petoskey State Park to Ellsworth, Michigan

Up early, we enjoyed a relaxing walk on the beach of Lake Michigan searching for Petoskey Stones - fossilized coral unique to this area easiest found when wet, along the shore. This state park was very nice.  It is just past Harbor Springs, a really cute town on the shore of Lake Michigan that would be a fun place to spend some time.

Our ride started around noon, on a bike path from the Petoskey State Park to the town of Petoskey. We had lunch at a local deli in Petoskey before setting out for Ellsworth. Our route went through several very nice small towns situated on lake shores, then farm land. We had headwinds with many steep hills that made it a fairly difficult ride so were thankful for the short distance we planned for this day.

We camped at the Little Wooden Shoe Campground in Ellsworth with a nice view of the river.
