Day Forty Nine - Dalbo, MN to Osceola, Wisconsin our 6th State

Day 49
July 4th
Saturday
58 Miles
Dalbo, Minnesota to Oseola, Wisconsin

Happy 4th of July from our sixth state and a little over half way in this journey!

Our day did not start out as well as we would have liked.  Shortly after leaving the Bunkhouse, we heard the hissing sound of a flat tire.  The back tire on the tandem went flat.  Ronnie decided to replace the tire along with a new slime tube hoping the Schwalbe Marathon tire will hold up better than the Gator Skins we started with.

Today's ride took us through farm land, pastures, and forests. We passed a hog farm that we smelled long before seeing it, and passed many horse farms some with young foals.  We saw two white tailed bucks in velvet, a pheasant, and six concrete deer families decorating well manicured lawns.

Many people took advantage of the beautiful weather to celebrate the fourth outdoors.  They waved, and several cheered us on.  One person passed us slowly in their car giving us the thumbs up sign.

As we arrived in Oseola we stopped at a Subway to cool off and have a late lunch.  The ice tea tasted better than usual on this hot, humid day.
