Day Thirty Five - Wolfpoint to Circle, Montana

Day 35
June 20th
Saturday
53 Miles
Wolfpoint to Circle

Left at 6:30 am with a head cross wind.  Rolling hills after 5 miles of flat, and a 7 mile climb. We worked hard to get to Circle and since there are no services or places to stay for 55 more miles we stayed at the City Park.  Typically there is no overnight camping in the Circle City Park but we stopped by the sheriff's office and spoke to a State Trooper that is also a cyclist.  He told us to camp at the park that night free of charge, it had pit toilets.  He also offered to let us take showers in the Sheriff's office.

We stopped to take a picture of the Sunnyside one room school house, the school was open 1923-1966.  A man in a truck came back to talk to us, he started to school at Sunnyside in 1942 with eight total students.  He was very proud of his school and the fact that he never missed a day of school for eight years. He also told us the most students it served at one time was 44.

We crossed the Missouri River today, saw mule deer and prairie chickens as we rolled through the green hills.  The roadsides were lined with yellow flowers that stood out against the dark green fields and smelled nice in the breeze.  We also crossed the following creeks:
Wolf Creek
Cow Creek
Duck Creek
Buffalo Creek
Horse Creek
Buffalo Springs Creek

This local man attended the Sunnyside School eight years, never missing a day
