Day Forty - Glen Ullin to Mandan / Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park

Day 40
June 25th
Thursday
65 Miles
Glen Ullin ND to Mandan / Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park North Dakota

Rolling hills today and climbs through a very green, very pretty North Dakota.  The wild flowers the locals call sweet clover line the roads and smell wonderful.  Locals say this is the most rain and the most green they have seen things in many years.  We love that we see honey bee boxes every few miles.

It was a pleasant surprise at how nice Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park was. Very clean, spacious campsites, bath facilities with showers, along with friendly helpful employees made this a great place to camp. Thursday night the camping area was only half full, that weekend it was completely full. At this site the Heart River flows into the Missouri River.

The white line on the trees shows how deep the water rose during a flood in 2011
