Day Ten - Omak to Tonasket, Washington

Day 10
May 26th
Tuesday
27 Miles
From Omak to Tonasket

Today was an easy ride through the valley from Omak to Tonasket.  We followed the Okanogan River and saw beautiful cherry and apple orchards along the way. We also enjoyed seeing horses and cows grazing in the green fields next to the river. The landscape is much drier on this side of Washington Pass.  We are camping at the visitors center in Tonasket.  They have a wonderful area behind the center specifically for bike camping and it is FREE!  Everyone has been very friendly, especially the ladies at the visitor center.  Sharon, thank you for your assistance at the library and recommendations for food, it was wonderful meeting you!

Tomorrow we go over Wauconda Pass to the town of Republic.

Tandem comment of the day:

"Mommy, why are their bicycles stuck together?"
